We’re still in flu season and it’s unpleasant to deal with phlegm and mucus. Here are some simple natural remedies to eliminate this discomfort.

Phlegm is often accompanied by colds and other respiratory infections. This, of course, is not a serious medical problem, but it’s very troublesome. It tends to collect in the lungs and is expelled through coughing.

Lemon Tea with Honey:

Boil water and add 2 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice, let it cool for a minute or two and add a spoonful of honey. Honey helps to soothe throat irritation.

Spicy Food:

Have you noticed that when you are eating horseradish your nose is running uncontrollably. Spicy food acts as a decongestant and helps to dissolve phlegm.
